Window on to memory No.3
11”x8.5”
pencil, ink, collage on paper
2018

Series inspired by derelict roadside billboards seen during my cross-country drive relocating to California from D.C. I was drawn to the minimalist, monolithic structures and their abandoned state. I wanted to re-use them as frames or windows on to the past. They stood as fragmented remnants and perfectly symbolized how we try to piece together or recover parts of our past that have been lost, never being able to fully complete the puzzle, and always facing the unknown.
