Sculptural iteration of the Unknown collage series. Vernacular symbols (on front and back) of ancient Egypt face-to-face with Victorian silhouettes of unknown persons, not only convey a sense of opposition and "otherness," but also evoke mirroring and intertwined histories. The stones refer to primordial, everlasting existence in the face of a more ephemeral, impermanent human experience and the question of historical authority.
